2012 Help Portrait Campaign

I’m pleased to announce the launch of my 2012 Help Portrait Campaign. Help Portrait is a global organization of photographers that utilize their equipment, time, and talent to give back to their communities, completely free.

How can a portrait help? Animal shelters can more than triple their adoption rate with good portraits of the animals, a family portrait can mean the world to a family that lost their home to a natural disaster, or a victim of abuse can feel beautiful again, maybe for the first time.

So I’m announcing my efforts to join this campaign today. I need your help though, I need a list of organizations or people you know that may be helped by this project.

Here is a short list of those that have been helped in the past by this organization:

  • Children’s hospitals
  • Animal shelters
  • Displaced families
  • Victims of abuse
  • Foster homes

There are many more possibilities out there, and I am open to any group that I can assist and do something good with. I think it is important to try to improve the world in whatever way you can. As a photographer, we don’t have a direct way of contributing to our communities, we aren’t offering a neccesity like food, shelter, or medical care, but we can still give something that can change someone’s life for the better.  That is the spirit of Help Portrait, and that is what I want to achieve.

So if you are interested in being a part of this campaign or have anyone in mind that will be a good fit for this project please fill out the form below, share this page on Facebook, and help me in making our community a better place.

Stephanie Wilcox - Hey David! I think the Darlington County Animal Shelter or any local shelter would benefit from this. All of those stories in the news of animal abuse.. it is a hot subject right now. With the hot summer months going on, animals are in desperate need for a home…
